Biography

New Zealand born. Australasian Gold and Bronze medal awards in Screen-print for best design 1997-1998. 12 years as a first class printer enabled me to grapple with images from simple to complex, colour separations, and attention to detail to work up powerful images. This provides the basis for changing direction and now investigating the media of painting. My paintings are a progression of this media, working in oil, acrylic, mixed media, on canvas and quality paper. I also draw in graphite, pastel and charcoal. My interest in cultural anthropology imbues my work with an expansive expressionistic abstract almost primitive approach to interpreting human phenomena. Psychological, Sociological, societal constructions of space, time, gender, are re-wrought to reflect the authors need to approach creation as a basic human need for self-expression, thereby making the process therapeutic
