Biography

Julie lives on the Fylde coast of Lancashire. She is a professional artist, publish author and popular tutor. Her portfolio encompasses Equestrian, Human and Pet Portraiture, Wildlife, Landscape and Still Life genres. Her tuition includes weekly classes, workshops, private lessons, and demonstrations. She is a professional associate of the Society of All Artists Captivated by paintings and drawings from a very early age , Julie knew she wanted to be a working artist - (however impractical and impossible it seemed back then). Whilst still at school she began learning the craft through experimenting with watercolour, oil and pastels. These early experimental years were invaluable in providing a sound understanding of media. This same process of self teaching later aided her in attaining a strong acrylic technique. Over the years Julie’s sustained interest in, and study of the natural environment has intuitively honed her observation of the world around her. As a mature student she returned to art, completing a BA hons in Scientific and Natural History illustration and also studying portrait and life drawing. These skills and experience, combined with her professional teaching qualification (PGCE) ensure students get the very best tuition and commissioned work is of the highest standard.
