Graham Dossett

Biography

I came to art quite late in life after an unhappy experience with it at school. I have, though, always been drawn to watercolour paintings, liking their relative simplicity and transparency. My interest was noticed and nurtured, post retirement, by an artist friend who encouraged, advised and helped, as a result of which I started to paint myself having taken some classes and joined a local art group. I’m primarily interested in the medium of watercolour and feel particularly drawn to painting buildings and architectural subjects. I don’t really know why! I choose not to exhibit and don’t attempt to sell my work. Satisfaction and fulfilment comes solely from the experience of painting, experimenting and sometimes producing a finished article that I can feel moderately pleased with.
