Amanda Hyde

Biography

I am a self taught artist working predominantly, although not exclusively with acrylic paint on either canvas or paper. I would dearly loved to have attended art school and been taught how to paint, but it wasn't to be. I was very active in the South West some years ago and produced and exhibited work for several galleries. In addition I have undertaken commissions and painted murals and provided a book cover design. After moving to Kent in 2013 a hand injury curtailed my painting completely, until a successful operation has allowed me to return to my art. I would describe my work as naive, but with the occasional technical elements here and there. I love to work with colour and exaggerate it within my work. I like to make bold line work part of the overall painting and endeavor to steer away from the norm. I am currently preparing work to submit to one of the larger galleries in the area and very much hope to become as successful in the South East as I was in the West Country. I would like to thank everyone who takes the time to view and comment on my work. It is very much appreciated.
