Anne Charnock

Biography

I grew up with a natural love of Art, especially drawing the environment around me in a cosy suburb of Liverpool, with its many different cultures, environments and opportunities. I gained a degree in Art and Graphic Design, and went on to teach for 10 years, using Art to help special needs children with learning problems on the Wirral. Due to my husband’s job, we then had to move to Gloucestershire, so I continued to help out at school teaching History of Art at Night School. I then became involved with many different flowers, and fauna on one of the wildest areas of Gloucestershire as we moved to May Hill. I was fortunate enough to be able to help as a National Trust Volunteer as they were looking for people to help look after the White Belted Galloway cattle grazing on May Hill, and also monitor the ecology, flowers, etc. This has enabled me to have the luxury of concentrating on what I enjoy best which is experimenting with different patterns and designs, printing on various mediums, using the trees and flowers to express my creativity and gives me a wide pallet to draw this unique habitat.
