Chris Knapman boasts a successful career as an artist spanning over 20 years. His talents encompass portraiture, mural work, illustration and caricatures. He regularly work as a live caricaturist at events and also give talks , demonstrations and workshops to Art Societies, the W.I. and other groups. Within a workshop he begins with a quick introduction about myself, using a few samples of my work to grab attention, discussing basic caricature theory before splitting the audience into groups where they draw one another, whilst he goes round the room offering a critique and tips. This builds up an entertaining gallery of work within the session, which he supplements with additional caricatures as the workshop progresses. The session concludes by placing all the artwork together for a final assessment pointing out some of the best or funniest images. Chris is also available to take commissions. He says that he finds this especially rewarding as it allows him to capture his clients’ special moments on canvas to enable them to last a lifetime. In addition to being highly skilled in traditional media including pencil, watercolour, gouache, pen and ink, acrylic and oils, Chris is now creating “Digital Caricatures” using digital art that can be downloaded straight onto your computer.
