'Returning to the Land (art & landscape)' 5 day art residential courses in the hills and valleys of mid Wales. This course draws together our love of art and the archeology of mid-Wales, walking and talking, painting and drawing (and a certain amount of eating and drinking).We will guide you on a series of journeys into this beautiful and remote part of mid-Wales. Hidden in valleys and ancient woods, hills and moorland are innumerable traces of almost forgotten ways of life: the fragmented remains of castles, iron age forts, abandoned farmhouses, old barns, mills, and cottages in various stages of decay, crumbling away and tumbling into heaps of stone, gradually returning into the land, nature taking it’s materials back to itself. Eventually all traces will disappear, perhaps remaining visible only from high flying aircraft as the light strikes the landscape obliquely in the light of the setting sun.
