I know the place well having spent many lovely holidays there. Lovely palette which reflects the tones of Scotland. Great watercolour painting, great misty mountains and dramatic foreground.

Many thanks Seok Yam Chew and Thea for your kind comments - I have now completed another two studies of this scene with different colour palettes and will upload them shortly.

This is part of a little experiment using different colour palettes. Mark 1 is basically 6 representative colours from my normal palette. I hope to do another two versions using 3 and 6 colour palettes recommended on the W&N website. The study is a view from the Isle of Skye over the Sound of Sleat back to the Scottish mainland.
