Teeming with detail, and also with life. Could study this for a long time.

Beautiful work Walter. Great scene and I love the format.

A super follow up! A beautiful panorama of the harbour with the two together - I never tire of your style.

An excellent painting, so much to look at! Well done.

Hi Carole, Avril, Robert and Stephen - many thanks for your positive comments -this style with so much detail is not my preferred way of painting but with all the interesting detail in this harbour it is hard to resist. Interestingly (?), the tallish building on the left is a smokery that produces Arbroath Smokies - a smoked haddock which is a local and not so local delicacy - I have tried to indicate some smoke coming out the top of the smokery building.

I just love these sort of paintings with loads of detail and bright colours. Well done.

Thanks Thea -both these harbour scenes were painted for a nice gallery down at the quay in Arbroath - Art on the Quay. If you go a few yards from the gallery door you can see both views - so it was important to make them believable.

Wonderfully captured with lots of content I know exactly what you mean Walter. I prefer to paint panoramas because I don't like to leave anything out

Many thanks, Andy

This is a companion piece for the painting of Arbroath Harbour revisited. It is ~6x17 inches on Arches HP paper using W&N artists tubes and Indian Ink (waterproof).
