Arbroath Harbour revisited

Arbroath Harbour revisited

A vibrant little(or not so little) watercolour, lots to see but not overworked. Are you exhibiting at Pittenweem this year? Congratulations by the way on being one of the editors choices for this month, that painting really made me smile.

Hi Val - many thanks for your kind comments - what are these editors like- no taste at all! I have put a couple of paintings into the open exhibition in the primary school at Pittenweem so we will see what happens. If you are down at Pittenweem make sure you go to the venue where Liz Yule and Angus MacDonald are exhibiting - they both produce beautiful watercolours as does Josephine Gillespie who has a venue down by the harbour.

Just great! Love the format and rich,"juicy" colours - wish I were there!

Thanks for the tip on those two venues, hoping to be there wednesday so will check them out. Hope to look in at the school as well. Looking forward to my day out, I always enjoy Pittenweem.

Lovely, vibrant and beautifully observed painting. Always like your work and this one rates as one of your best I think.

Hi Avril, Val and Thea - thanks for your kind comments - the richness of the colour comes I think from the fact that with HP paper the colour "sits on top" of the paper rather than being partially absorbed. Val - have a good day at Pittenweem - it is usually a great day if a bit sore on the feet!

Love this colourful scene

Thanks, Lesley, for your kind comment and for taking the time to make it.

This is my favourite of the two. Interesting painting again.

A another go at a subject I painted a while back - this time a bit bigger. 6x17 inches on Arches HP paper using mostly W&N artists tubes
