I think the splash of colour has taken the image on to a new level Walter, well done.

I agree with Stephen Walter - the splash of colour is a real eye catcher.

There is some superb line work in this lovely picture - masterfuly painted Walter

I'm glad to have found your portfolio, Walter, I love your work. Have you used any pen work or is it all brush in this? It's so original and interesting. Looking through your work I saw you like Melville. I do too - I have a memory problem, but I think I saw some of his paintings in last year's Glasgow Boys at the Royal Academy, would that be right?

Excellent stuff walter, nice and scruffy, looks lived in. best Mick

A super piece, Walter. Beautifully painted.

Absolutely wonderful Walter...love it to bits!!

So many superlatives already used so what can I say - except perhaps that I could happily live with this on my wall. Well done.

Very impressive, love it Walter.

Really nice painting Walter.

Thank you very much Stephen, Jane, Michael, Caroline, Mick, Seok, Fiona, Julie, Caroline and Denise -- this painting just kind of happened It was meant to be a tonal exercise but I got naughty! PS to Caroline - there is no pen work - many of the "lines" were "drawn" with with the edge of a piece of mountboard - then I used a 1/2 inch flat for the rest apart from the colour. I missed out on the Glasgow Boys - went through to Glasgow to see the exhibition and the museum staff were on strike for the day-- haarrrruuuuumphhhh!

I love this, and the splash of colour works well, makes you want to go further into the painting, very eye catching, well painted Walter.

Many thanks Susan!

This was a watery acrylic tonal study that got away. I couldn't resist adding a bit of colour.
