Cottage reflection

I like it a lot Stephen except for those big trees at the left, seem too spidery and devoid of tones.

Hi Stephen, I like this picture too. How about putting a slightly darker glaze over the bottom part (the reflections) ? I didnt see what you were painting but i seem to remember being told that generally reflections in water are darker and slightly more colour intensive. Dont take that as gospel though. Otherwise i think you are definitely on the right track. The motif is very pleasing and you have done a good job on it. Absolutely a painting to hang on the wall!

Thanks for your comments Derek and Judith. Much appreciated. Derek I have put more tones into the spidery trees (yes they were like that in the photo I used, spidery). Judith, yes I think I will put a glaze on the water, as I am still learning about oils, could I do this when touch dry, or will I have to wait for a few months? Thanks for your help.
