River Tern, Attingham Park

Attingham Park - my local NT venue! I have walked there for over 20 years and all of my dogs have considered the park an extension to their back garden. One of my dogs even has her ashes scattered there as she loved the park so much. It was very lovely to suddenly come across your painting and you have really captured the wonderful summer colours and the meandering River Tern very well. All my dogs have also swum in that river - my 13 week old puppy even dived into it following her bigger 'sister' and I had to effect a daring rescue and got very wet! Goodness, your painting has certainly awakened a lot of memories for me.

It's a beautifully balanced and happy painting Stephen! I love the the very brave way you have used bright colours. Especially the vivid green which rarely works in landscapes but here gives the painting an uplift. ( I'm not sure that is the correct phrase but you understand what I try to say.) All on all this is a lovely piece of work!
