I aghree with Kirstie, vibrant colours

You're also going through a phase of very delicate and effective drawing: very important here, because bright colour can look garish and clumsy unless it's sensitively applied. Your trees have a sense of growth and movement.

Stephen - you deny (elsewhere) that you're being delicate.... well, all right then; but will you allow me graceful, and sweeping? I'm referring to your branches and the sense of life in your trees - you didn't just fling the paint on there. By delicate, incidentally, I don't mean hesitant, ultra-careful, applying little feather-light touches and then jumping backwards with a squeal.... I mean rather the touch with the brush (there's a word for it, if I could think of it!), the elasticity of movement in hand, wrist and arm - you have that: and you have it to a greater extent now than you had, I think, when I first encountered your work on POL. Many thanks for your comment on my latest.

Such beautiful, bright colours! You have a very colourful gallery, Stephen. Love it!!!

hope you keep up your colourful phase, i really liked this painting, so lively in a natural way

A very, very vibrant and joyful piece, Stephen. Love the colors and the atmosphere!

40cm x 40cm on boxed canvas. An impressionistic painting (I think) inspired by one of my photos from Harlow Carr (RHS garden) taken a couple of years ago. I'm going through a very colourful phase at the moment! Visit my website: www.artyboi.co.uk
