Interesting light & delicate shadows.

Many thanks Stephen. Quite correct Michael, looks distinctly damp and chilly out there, not ventured out yet. I enjoyed painting this mostly wet in wet in layers, with some darker details added at the end. Funny how we take local scenes for granted, I think it was the light that made me see the ordinary in a different way.

From a photo I took yesterday near home. Although it is quite a poor district now, a hundred years ago it is where the wealthy Oldham mill owners lived, with large gardens surrounded by high sone walls, as on the left. I quite liked the strong light that was around yesterday.
