Many thanks Barry, Newton's book 'Complete guide to Watercolour Painting' is worth a read. His use of shadows is very good.

You pitched this perfectly Stephen great variety in the greens and lovely changing colour in the shadows , your best yet in my opinion . Thank you for the comment on my latest and regarding the red in the reflection yes I thought about this before committing to paper , I always do a smaller test painting and tried the red in the reflection but decided to leave out as it seemed to be overkill to me , isn’t artistic license great ☺️
