Lovely work Stephen full of interesting detail, just as it is I imagine!

How lucky to have this on your door step...or even at the bottom of your garden Stephen! It must look different every day. Nice to see you still have plenty of greenery to paint in your garden.

Lovely lively approach Stephen

Many thanks everyone, it's a better view in winter and spring, too much foliage in summer / autumn.

A nice detailed, loose painting, if there is such a description. I am new to this game. I know the Grange convent that you have painted. You never get much chance to see it properly, surrounded by all those trees, especially in summer. By the way, is it Woodfield that has now been demolished? What a shame if it has.

Thanks Meagan, yes the Woodfield centre closed a couple of years ago and has been demolished and several large detatched houses are to be built on the site. If you are interested, I go to an art group that meets in the education centre in Werneth Park on Tuesday afternoons, we are always pleased to see new faces!

I shall bear this in mind, but feel I need to improve before I join an Art Group. I enjoy posting to the Gallery, it's good fun. And will keep practicing, of course! Then maybe I'll pop-in one day.

I wouldn't worry about needing to improve, we are a small group of amateurs who just enjoy painting and drawing for an hour or so and having a chat, oh and tea and biscuits!

I haven't done a picture of my garden for a while. Thought I would try a quick, loose line and wash approach. I am always impressed by the architectural details of 'the Grange' (ex Victorian mill owners home, now a convent) behind my garden. (Must add my house is a modest modern property, one of many in the grounds of an even bigger mill owners house, sadly demolished a few years ago). sorry to waffle on!

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
