This works a treat, especially from a distance which allows the loose elements to 'firm up' if that makes sense,which is probably what you are looking for!

Thank you for your encouraging comments. I’m going to keep with the Gouache for a few weeks to see if I can get better soft and hard edges where I would like them.

I really like this, Bob. I don't think there is much wrong with your edges, though soft edges are harder to obtain in gouache and acrylic without "feathering" or drybrush.

Gouache Study in Moleskine sketchbook approx 13"x 4.5". Just trying to get to grips still with Gouache, and what finer paintings to study than those by John Crump, a kind and helpful man. I'm trying to achieve a looser style in my gouache paintings than in my normal watercolour medium of choice. A lockdown challenge.
