A lovely, lovely painting, so well done. Has the authentic feel of a Cornish beach...Lovely colour, fresh and alive.

love this painting so lively , and brings back a lot of memories.

a beautiful painting. i loved the whole composition. so much to look at. loved the little dog!

Thank you all for your kind comments. YOu may notice but the dog (Oscar) makes an appearance in quite a few of my paintings. This was his first appearance.

Brilliant painting, can smell the beach!

Wow! This is lovely Richard. Jean

Thank you for our kind comments. I painted this in 2004 and it hung on our living room wall until last year when I pursuaded my wife that we should exhibit it. Lots of people liked it and of course it sold! I've replaced it with a gyclée print on canvas.

24" x 30". ORIGINAL SOLD. AVAILABLE AS GICLÉE PRINTS. Although I painted this in 2004 (and the original is sold), this is such a popular painting, that I have decided to include it in this portfolio. Downderry is a popular Cornish seaside village enjoying breathtaking, un-spoilt coastline and countryside about 18 miles west of Plymouth and 4 miles east of Looe. I have visited the village and beach on a couple of occasions and found it to be a place that is particularly popular with children, who spend happy hours searching the rock pools or building grand constructions in the sand. This painting is taken from a series of photographs I took in 2003 and is a composite of a number of different views. The dog, whose name was Oscar, was photographed here and made several appearances in my earlier paintings. Please visit my web site at: www.richardharpum.com
