The colors are very redolent of spring, Rebecca, and the white and black actually work very well to provide the stark contrast needed to move the eye around.

This may be the final in my cardboard sketches, i am not sure..............but, this one is using 2 colours. yellow and blue. the yellow flowers under the trees is oil pastel. the actual paint, (green grass, yellow blobs and blue sky) are gouache :-) the white of the blossom is white acrylic ink, and seeing as in the art world we say white and black are not considered colours..........they have not been counted as a colour in my work :-p i have been very impressed with the gouache (caran d'ache) because it has not cracked when dried, and others iv tried have.
