Beautiful colours and such a lovely soft harmonious feel.

Agreed, a lovely painting of an idyllic scene Sarah

Love the use of colour in this Sarah

Great colours Sarah.......beautiful reflections.

Thea, Ros, Michael and Fiona, Thank you for commenting on this painting! A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this one as I find that Oils are the most hardest of mediums to use. .... Mainly because of my impatience in letting them dry a bit before I layer on other tones , thus making perfect mud!!!!!

Hi Sarah, just seen your lovely comment on my latest pet pastel portrait the happy dog, thanks so much for leaving that really pleased you like that one i am plased with it myself, it came out really well xx

I love the colours you have used in this painting and the soft diffused effect that you have achieved.I totally agree with your comments about using oils,I have the same problems even using water-soluble oil. I'm about to try the interactive acrylics to see if they will bridge the gap!

Ros, It's my pleasure :) and Teresa, tell me about it!!!! I have tried Atelier acrylics and I think that you will find them very good indeed! They are very versatile and stay more malleable longer. I bought a set of them a while back and was very pleased with them :)

Lovely painting Sarah! Beautiful colours and very good reflections. I have wanted for a long time to buy water soluble oils but haven't done it yet for the reasons you mentioned. Perhaps interactive acrylics would be a good idea but then I have got so many ordinary acrylics.... Have you ever tried the fast drying oils? They are quite good but dry fast in the tube too!

Hi Satu :) I haven't tried the fast drying oils but I have tried the interactive acrylics and they are very good. I would definitely have a go with them, I am sure that you will like them. I bought a set of them and have nearly used them up.... I thought that I had better streamline all my art stuff and so have decided to use up some of my old oils and acrylics before I buy new ones as I am running out of space to store them all. Please let me know how you find the atelier acrylics. I would be surprised if you didn't like them. Thank you for your nice comments too :)

This is my fav..colours are fantastic...

Thank you Charles :)

Water based oil on board. 8"x10". This is based on a real boathouse. It is at times like this that I wish I was an Architect! I always find buildings hard to do.
