Hi Sarah well done i love the way the. Green field meets the trees. You done a great job its proper moody well done and thankyou

Glad you like it Dennis! It made me use darker darks. Much darker than I usually do.

It looks great Sarah! I don't think there is any way you can retrieve your portfolio. You must repost them one by one, so sorry.

Thank you Satu! I was too trigger happy with the delete button! Never mind!!!

This is fresh and lively...looks like a very quick study. I did the same thing with my portfolio this year and could have screamed. Too bad....start again!

Thank you Roger, it was fairly quick! I used a hairdryer to dry the background off quickly. Sorry to hear that you lost your portfolio too!

No you can't retrieve Sarah, I have tried and asked the question, This is really coming along, just watch your work on the branches of the trees as a tip.

A dull day, but not a boring picture! This is a good idea as a challenge, better than just moaning about how dull it is. I must have a go now winter is approaching.

Thanks Derek andMatthew for your comments! Derek, on looking at the branches again they do need some finer strokes added , they look a bit like sausages :) , and Matthew I pass on the challenge to you and will look out for it on this site :) I know that Derek has already painted a very nice version of a dull day, perhaps this challenge will grow and grow!

I was just thinking I would join the challenge! I too like the immediacy of this one.

Go for it Gudrun! I shall look forward to see your painting here very soon! Thank you for your nice comments too :)

A very lively study, Sarah. Great atmosphere!

Wonderful atmosphere - it feels so cold, windy and wet. I love the way you have left the white of the paper on the right - a startling contrast to the dark colours of the trees and sky.

Thank you for your lovely comments Seok and Thea! I have just got home after two hours travelling through very windy, and rainy countryside! Very dull light but quite exciting just trying to keep the car on the road :)

This is fabulous Sarah!

Thank you Louise! That is a great compliment! I'd love to see your take on the challenge! All the best!

Lol! Anne, how funny! It's easy to do! Thanks for commenting on the painting. I'd love to see your take on a dull day, pastels would create a wonderful broody sky :). Take care x

Nice work Sarah. A colourfull painting of a dull subject. I like your palette and the ridged fields that take us in. It's a very dull day here although the trees have put on their orange robes to give a touch of colour. Thanks for your support on the forum.

No probs! Avril! Thank you for commenting on my painting :) it's a dull day here today too. Roll on Springtime and keep painting your lovely paintings ??

I must have missed this one sarah...it's very atmospheric, love the washes.

Thanks for commenting Fiona! I appreciate it :)

I've accidentally deleted a whole portfolio! Is there any way that I can retrieve it? Dennis this is in response to your Dull Day challenge, :) I hope that you all have a good weekend.
