You turn your hand to anything Val, beautiful veining on the petals and the glow in the centre is lovely. You have achieved such delicacy in oils.

Wow this is spectacular Val, wonderful painting. I first thought is was watercolour until I read your description, your detail in oil is superb.

Thank you Carole and Margaret glad you like it, irises are one of my favourite flowers. I should have mentioned that the oils I used are the W&N Griffin alkyd ones, quicker drying.

A friend asked me to paint an iris and as I've done several in watercolour I thought I would blow the dust off my oil paints and give them a go for a change. Thanks for looking :)
