It coming on beautifully Patsy. Before you judge that you got carried away with the green of the tree, carry on working on the foreground with a stronger colour. More I look at it and more I like it.

I have just been comparing the version before with this one and although I don't think the green is too harsh, the foreground does definitely stand out better in the previous painting. No idea what the solution is. No doubt you will sort it Patsy. I shall look forward to the last and final version.

Don't know what I'd do to improve this. The background & mid-ground are really good. The foreground; I'm not sure, is that a bush just right of centre at the bottom edge? Perhaps a little more detail there but, as I said, I'm not sure. Be careful when deciding what to do next. I always tell my students that if the foreground isn't strong enough it doesn't support the stronger elements further back. But I still can't make up my mind. The greens are'nt too harsh in my eyes and you can be proud of this, so far.

wow, can really see it coming along from your previous installments, I like the green, it is in harmony with the other tones (well, to my unprofessional eyes it is)...you may stop having to upload photos....your making me a little homesick!

Hi patsy, looking very nice, burnt sienna and yellow ochre gives a beautiful range of reds, especialy for the region you are painting, perhaps some lighter tones here and there on the main tree's would really bring them to life, can not wait to see the finnished product, I think it is going to look lovely :)

Patsy... just found this, sooooo impressed. Love it. No the green is not too intense, agree with Beatrice a bit of the same colour towards the front to help balance. But hey its your pics, do it your way. Brill.

Hi again Patsy, Thanks for your very kind comment on Australias Backyard, and it is of the pilbara, I used to live there many years ago and can completely understand the stain that gets into your clothes:) terrible but beautiful scenery (very hot though). I am possitive that your painting will look wonderful when finnished, I to love bright vivid colours cannot resist them. Have you seen the Australian landscape magazine? has some really beaut pics in it, I used to buy it all the time when we lived in Busselton, can't find it here will have to order it in. Hopefully its still being printed:).

Hi Patsy, I love this. It has feeling of shimmering heat and movement, powerful expression. Thanks, Pats!!

Hi Patsy:), the sites Robert gave me were, www.how-to-draw-and-paint.com Also web site by Peter Saw, I just googled him, but I really enjoyed the how to site its just great with step by step videos to watch, not only on water colours but great videos on oil and acrylic as well. Had the opening night last night for the gold rush comp, did not win any awards this year, but had a ball, its more a learning curb for me at the moment and to browse over 500 paintings in one gallery is mind boggling:). My art room is a mess at the moment, like you did I need to resort and tidy up a bit, I have carpet too which I think I have succesfully ruined with paint :) but we are in the process of renovating an old queenslander home so carpet will be pulled up one of these days. Did you find water colours easier than acrylics to learn? Hope your lemon juice works, its great with all the advice you receive on this site, riot art is so boring, I have put a couple of paintings on there for sale, not too sure that my price is right maybe too high. But dare say I will prob delete them soon and stick with this site:) kind regards karleen.

I have Been very remiss Patsy...have not looked in at your paintings for a while. Interesting to watch the progress of this...Looking very good especially as its on Saunders Waterford where everything tends to sink down in ( I hate the stuff :- ), the Inks are adding great punch to it. Your going to be very proud of this one.

Love the colours in this Patsy......the greens look great to me.....very well done.

You gave me the impression that you weren't pleased with this. I think it's great. The mid ground greens are right in context with the distant hills. The foregound just needs strengthening.

This really stood out Patsy. I love the colours and everything about it. Such freedom. PS I would like to thank you very much for your comment on Elisabeth - much appreciated.
