What a beautiful portfolio - I like them all. The water is great in this one.

I agree with Avil - the water is brilliant and I can't see why you think it is too blue. I don't have a problem with the trees either - it's a lovely painting.

Until I read your comment funny enough I had not noticed the trees on the left, the design of your picture had drawn my eyes right in the middle. One problem with us artists is when there is something that we quite do not like in our picture we tend to see only this little part. I would not like to advise you on this one. May be turn the picture against the wall and come back in a week time with a fresh eye.

A stunning picture. The trees look fine.

It's a slightly cool painting, if that's what you mean by too blue - but I think it's well balanced by the reds in the houses and bridge; I suppose you could warm the bridge a little.... but it's so well drawn that I'd be ecstatically happy with it, if this were mine! The water is really convincing - it's the devil's own job to make water look wet. Beatrice's advice is good - we do focus on the part that bothers us, and become somewhat obsessed with it so that we can't see the whole; and if you're not happy, putting the picture away for several days is always a good idea.

It's a lovely picture. The cool of the water is well balanced by warmer tones in the bridge and trees behind. Very very well painted.

Thank you for your comments. You are so right, i do get obsessed with what i see as the weak bits. I think that probably the best thing to do is to ignore it for a few weeks as has been suggested. Once again thank you for your time and advice.
