Thanks everyone! The snow had just fallen when I took the reference photos so I'm glad that shows in the painting. Lol, Sylvia Evans. I did consider painting in a hand breaking through the snow in the foreground but thought it might be a bit much :D

Possibly more horror than fantasy but I wanted to explore ideas about winter as the death of nature for a while before it comes alive again in Spring, and a graveyard seemed a good way of doing that. Inspiration was from an old church and graveyard in Lanark where I used to live. Oils on canvas board 12x16"
