Colours are great Michael, love the greens and the rusty roof is very realistic.

I wasn't keen on the positioning of the subject either, this composition is much better. I like all the squiggly ink twig marks.

Super piece from the Leisure Painter monthly project, great colours

Super piece, Michael! I think the washes have added a real oomph to the twig painting (which was excellent on its own). I like it very much.

This touch of colour has given it a real lift. I especially like the subdued background trees and the effect of the rusty corrugated iron roof.

Like it very much. You have done what we all must do; follow our instincts and not slavishly copy.

Always best to do your own version of a subject and inject your own style and personality into it - as you have done here. Lovely pen and wash and the colours are super. I have just finished my version but the daylight today is awful so I can't photograph it. It is really interesting to see all the various takes on the one subject.

Thanks everyone - Thea: look forward to yours.

Great piece Michael I really like the addition of colour to the original twig and ink drawing.

Nice balance between the ink work and the washes Michael.

This is great Michael, loved it without colour but it looks stunning with!

They are all so different and individual. I have just seen Thea's version of it and it's so interesting to compare them all. You have made it yours with your usual colours and style and have not tried to copy the original. Well done!

Fantastic work Michael, many congratulations

I posted the twig and ink drawing of this a few days ago and have now added washes to it. It is based upon the photo in in an article by Tony Underhill (LP - January) where he invites readers to have a go and I always like a challenge. Altered the position of the subject - it was slap bang in the middle. Overall including original twig and ink drawing it took about 40 minutes. Fun to do - hope you like i
