Now that's the right way to use ink :) Another great example of a simple but effective painting. I'll think of this one next time I decide to throw some ink around LOL

It's lovely Michael. I particularly like the graduated wash background and the ink grasses in the foreground look great. A black frame will set it off perfectly!

Lovely simplicity at its best!

What a great and original idea Michael.....I love it!

Thanks all. Ink applied with a stick - It is the idea of simplicity that appeals to me and which I think I managed to capture here.

The white didn't work, as you know, but everything else did. And I'd most certainly frame it - even though the white didn't do what you wanted it to, a) it doesn't really detract from the image, and b) you could always add a few sweeps of black, acrylic or ink, into it.

It might not have taken long to paint but it is really effective, and the inky black grasses stand out so well against the soft watercolour. I imagine it will look quite sticking with a simple mount and frame.

Like your graded washes Michael also love the ink use.

I like this very much; very effective. I am keen on black on white in general, so this, with colour wash, is also right up my street. Like you have said yourself, the white doesn't add, but as Robert says, doesn't detract.

Love this Michael

I like this a lot, Michael. Simple yet very dramatic.

A very quick demo piece done in about 10 mins - well a bit longer if you include the time it took the ink to dry. Skould look OK with a wide mount and maybe a black frame if I ever get round to it - already spent the best part of the day cutting mounts. Only added the white acrylic ink to demonstrate how it can be used and didn't make a very good job of it at that - will probably leave it out if I do something similiar again
