An abstract view of rooftops comes to mind and a hint at cubism in the foreground shapes, perhaps. I like the darker colours of the palette showing through the veil of the lighter washes in the bottom third. I struggle with abstracts Marjorie, I have no imagination which I think helps a lot in the planning stage! 😂

Love the colours and the effects Marjorie. I never know what I am doing when I try abstracts which is probably very good for me, though it's hard to change mindset. Anyway, your painting looks beautiful- good result!

Yes, and one of Paul Klees sayings was 'Abstract is like taking a line for a walk' and so those buildings with triangular structures like A frames are emerging from the unknown, it kind of keeps one guessing what next! I do see old buildings and maybe a harbour in the distance..

Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment…I feel the need to strengthen it a bit, maybe with a bit of red ( not so that it dominates). The time I’ve spent thinking about this! It’s so much harder for me than something figurative.
