Excellent Marjorie, love all the bright colours so cheerful.

Paul, you are so good, commenting each time . Thank you so much. This is just me showing what I’m doing at the moment. It’s certainly not a finished product😁 but a conversation between us here on the site. This site is a very welcoming place and most of us don’t claim to have the answers but enjoy the “ conversation”.

Interesting ‘chequerboard’ appearance Marjorie, lovely semi abstract.

Ah, thanks Carole. Do you like Paul Klee? I love his North African abstracts. I love the colours.

I love the way this is looking Marjorie. I will have a look at his work.

Super colours Marjorie.

Your painting is really nice and fun to look at 😊

Denise, as with all artists, I don’t like everything but I love the colours Paul Klee used. My favourite palettes tend to be soft “romantic” colours - purples, pinks, browns. I can appreciate vivid palettes if they are necessary for a mood but personally, when I paint, what attracts me are the more “ subtle “ attributes. Sometimes I wish I could be be more “ in your face” but I guess that isn’t me.🙂

Very adventurous, interesting shapes and colours Marjorie. I recognise the castle and the river and do appreciate the beauty of Paul Klee’s work. Fascinating where this will lead to.

I like some of Paul Klee's work and I like this Marjorie. I like the colours you've chosen and I really like the round trees!

Yes some of them can be really fascinating Marjorie.

Like this, Marjorie, especially the soft colours. (We had started a ‘favourite paintings’ theme on the forum but only got as far as portraits, maybe someone would like to start another on abstracts or semi-abstracts?)

What a clever abstraction, good one Marjorie

Love it Marjorie, we must all be experimenting, methinks! This is a great idea!

I don't recognise this as you, Marjorie but knowing your work, keep going these forms and colours will lead you to something special.

This is fabulous, Marjorie. It reminds of some of the works by Paul Klee, who happens to be one of my favourite abstract artist.

Thanks, all, for responding to what is just a " beginning". Whether I'll get any further will depend on enjoyment. At the moment it seems very hard. I've got an hour to spare now, will go and have another try.

I find all types of abstract and semi abstract hard work….not sure if it’s fear half the time. It’s a challenge certainly, which you have met, with your colourful town scene Marjorie. I think Willies comment is spot on, this will lead to something spectacular!

Sort of with Paul Klee in mind, an idea I can work on.
