Nice work

"Oh the far Cuillins are puttin' love on me As step I wi' my cromach to the Isles." I'd love to see that painting finished Marion, although it has great appeal just as it is. Lovely work.

What a view to work from. Did you do any more to this?

This is wonderful. The lively loose ink work this is gorgeous, please don't alter it too much, a eagle on high maybe to give it an air of emptiness. Jim is right this is a work of poetry :)

Thanks everyone! I didn't do any more on this one -- trying for that "lots of white space" approach -- but did do several others from this spot, with varying success. Using acylic ink, draw the line, spray it with water, and take it from there. I am currently doing studio paintings on canvas (see "mountains" on my website) based on this location.

Love this, Marion, very minimalist and just right!

'white space' I like the sound of that 'ma' in a painting and poetry, what is not there but implied, nice. Thanks for the info.

CAJ-- White space is a term I know from book and magazine design, the "empty" space that you have to resist "filling in" in a successful layout/design. Don't know what art terms there are for it, but to my mind it's not the same as negative space which can still have "stuff" in it.
