Living in this climate and landscape they need to be tough, your painting gives it a stark reality Malcolm.

This is another depiction of one of the Balti porters from one of my trips to the Karacoram Mountains, incredibly hardy people, one day we did a swap they carried our packs and we carried theirs for a distance, needless to say they had a good laugh at us in the end, great people.
