Hehe nice one Louise and I know exactly what you mean about having a cold as well, I was stuck with mine for over a week! Real drag are'nt they! This little pen and wash is lovely and fresh, lovely work on that shrub outside the window as well

This is great Louise, love the composition!

Many thanks Ros and Petra! Also, that odd little object on the drainer that looks like a little dress is an 'abstract' washing up sponge...

I use fairy liquid as well...... Years a go I had a post card of the back of a woman washing up , I loved it though I can remember no details as to who painted it. This reminds me of that painting , and gives me. the same satisfaction . .

It's a great series - love the quirkiness of them

Quirky and cute - I also am a lover of the little green fairy! lol

Many thanks Sylvia, Michael and Debs. These are fun to do and actually, to paint some everyday scenes like this is all good practice. I think that it's called 'honing one's observational skills'. I'm certainly noticing more!

I love this one Louise! So free and accurate at the same time. Love the colours too!

I agree with Michael, it's a great series of 'paint it as you it' subjects, and as you say, brilliant for practice. After seeing your Manchester street scene paintings, I thought I would give one a go.......too dodgy to post though, perspectives are all ove the place!!

This is fab - love the ultramarine against the dark greens of the foliage - really set each other off. Do you actually do washing up? I don't even wash a teaspoon as it all goes in the dishwasher. If you do wash up I am seriously impressed! Particularly like your tap - very well drawn.

Yes Thea, I wash up well and Helen, when you say you must try it, are we talking soapy water or painting technique?..LOL Seriously though, don't use a pencil, go straight in with a pen. You'll make mistakes but they all seem to add to the overall spontaneity. Work quickly with confidence and try not to take the pen off the paper too much would be my advice. Just go for it.

Absolutely love this, Louise, especially the lovely, clear washes and palette. Hope you feel better soon!

Pen and wash. My excuse for these slightly whacky interior scenes is that I've been stuck indoors with a bad cold for a couple of days! I'm ok now so have no excuse not to put the washing up away and tidy up..LOL
