Oil on canvas 18 x 10cm. I painted this scene for fun as one of my alphabet paintings (I am painting a picture for each letter of the alphabet). The letter U is a tricky one but the ukulele came to my rescue. Ladybird book illustrations are definitely an inspiration here. This little instrument was a present from a friend and hangs around in my house. Lets hear it for the ukulele!

I set myself a challenge to paint a small picture for each letter of the alphabet. Not every painting I've done since then has been part of this 'alphabet' but I enjoy coming back to this series in between other projects. I'd love to know what you think of my work or if you have a favourite.
