Beautiful image - love the beads of dew on the petals. The close up view makes a painting of great impact.

Oil on box canvas, 16" x 20". Reference material by kind permission from Clive Nicholls Garden Photography. Loved this the minute I saw it and had to paint it. The Camellia Japonica - Ava Maria is otherwise known as the rose of winter, hence the title. The drops of water are reminiscent of the red rose I painted last year on the delicate petals. Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed painting it.
