Whiteford Lighthouse

I like this. What an unusual lighthouse and it looks really hard to draw so well done.

Thank you, yes it was quite a challenge. It's made of metal and the rusty and corroded bits presented such a wonderful palette of colour. A little background now - the lighthouse is a famous landmark in our part of North Gower on the Burry Estuary coast. It's for sale at £1: however, the catch is the buyer must restore and protect at a cost of around quite a few millions! Hence it is still a lonely feature on the coast.

Thank you. I painted it from a photo taken by my daughter when on a family walk, so the figures you can see are my grandsons and their dad. I'll be out of action for a while now as I'm having an op next week to pin my thumb (the curse of arthritis). I will miss my art and I'm rubbish left-handed, although I may well give it a go.
