I haven't heard of 'Oil bars', are they anything like oil pastels? you have made a good job of using them I like this a lot.

Thank you William. The Winsor & Newton Oil Bars are solid blocks of oil paint with a protective film which is peeled off to use them. They can be used as "crayons" or put on a palette to use with brushes. If you crayon on to the board in different colours then you can blend in any way you choose, i.e. fingers, brush, palette knife... Great for plein air painting. Charles Evans demonstrated them at Patchings. They dry fantastically quickly.
