That's exactly as is is, Jenny. I like the group of Herdwicks in the foreground with the diagonal of Fleetwith Pike bringing the eye down to them before it heads centre stage into the heart of the picture. Plenty of atmosphere in the composition. Wish I was there right now!

Love the Lake District and this shows it off in all its beauty.

You've reduced the scene very skilfully to a few big shapes with the detail of the waterfall, the suggestion of sheep and the yellowish green foreground light, all in one area as focal points. An excellent painting.

Beautiful! Love the atmosphere. Takes me back there

So majestic and beautifully painted Jenny.

Thank you for the lovely comments again! I am a bit confused abut the sheep...! There aren't any, where are people seeing them? :) I love the way our different eyes and imaginations work!

Now you're talkin'!! I know this area very well, Jenny, having walked these fells for decades. I still stare at the Innominate Tarn when I pass by, near the top of Haystacks. I'm an admirer of Wainwrights guides to the fells and will probably have a bash at painting the tarn myself one day. Sorry, I digress. This is quite simply superb, especially the overall palette and the misty glow of the screes and background. The tones are spot on IMHO, and the feeling of space is excellent. It's a beaut'. Bri

Beautiful view, expertly captured. Love it.

Wonderful light and distance!

Definitely Haystacks and a very good representation .
