This was my first real try at painting after messing around with a couple of old canvases and getting no where. I decided to really try when I saw this painting in a book, I bought a canvas board 20" x 30", it took me 3 months but it gave me a lot of experience in colour mixing. I thought if can paint this I should be able to paint most landscapes, but I soon found out that was not the case. So this is my tribute to a wonderful Russian artist.
