Forest Floor

I think this is superb Hazel, you can nearly smell that sweet scent of bluebells, heather and damp grasses. The dappling in the foliage gives a real sence of depth and that major tree trunk just anchors everything beautifully, I really like the way the sunlight catches the foliage in the top left hand corner a lovely touch along with the bright light that tells you that the edge of the wood is out there, nice one.

Goodness Hazel - when I first glanced at this I thought it was a photo! This is superb painting, beautifully textured and with greens that really sing out. I stand in awe - it is lovely.

Wow Hazel, this painting is beautiful.. I too thought it to be a photograph.. I follow the painting in all directions and it's wonderful. :)

The knife work is so delicate and well foiled against the brush work it is difficult to find them but I like this piece very much, much more than I would have attempted when I was painting realistically.
