Stunning and beautifully painted, so much is good about it but the tree certainly has the star role. The stone walling is really well done.

Last Autumn we stayed at Goody Bridge just outside Grasmere, in the Lake District. I was fascinated by this old tree in front of the cottage, and sketched it. I have just got round to painting it, and hope I have conveyed something of its permanence, embedded in the wall, with moss and ferns growing on it.

Fiona Rossington

After a career teaching Science, I am now retired and have time to enjoy a local Art class. I find pastel suits my style but I also enjoy trying to use water colours to good effect. I love painting flowers but also enjoy buildings, which so far I have painted from photos I have taken.
