Testing worked! A gem as usual, albeit an older one!

I think I remember this one Fiona, still looks good. Still not keen on this new site layout.

Its one of my favourites too . Great to see it again .

We do get the hang of it soon Fiona! Lovely watercolour!

Stunning Fiona. Simply stunning.

Great to see all my POL friends gradually getting to grips with the new website. A lovely painting Fiona and definitely worth a second viewing!

Lovely artwork Fiona, easily recognisable

You have done many excellent works Fiona and this is a beauty

I remember this super painting from a while ago - nice to see it again and nice to see that you have managed to jump the 'how to post on the new site' hurdle!

Super watercolour - don't know how it appeared last time, but it looks really good on the new site

I really love your contrasts and crisp paintings Fiona.

Hurrah it worked!! Thank you all very much for your lovely comments, very much appreciated, especially as I bored you with a previously posted picture. This is the first picture I've done that I thought was worth framing...can't believe I did it in 2011....haven't improved very much have I?! Lol.

Stephen, stick with it. It didn't take me that long to work my way around the new site, I just didn't have anything worth posting. Just keep clicking and you'll get the hang of it.

Nice to see the familiar old (old in a nice way, not years..lol) names on this new site which after a shakey start now feels rather good to me. I like the gallery format as we're on the front page for much longer now and the larger images are good to look at, especially ones like this Fiona! I'll have to ask if a larger comment box would be possible though or keep my comments brief in future!

I don't think I remember seeing this one before, although that could be just the new surroundings we're in. Like the way your paints melt into each other in the tree - these are Old Holland watercolours, of course ... I know that because you've told us before, but I'd have guessed it anyway. They really suit you, and vice versa.

Congratulations on working out how to use the new site: it's VERY different, but I've found a little bit of perseverance and a touch of thinking works wonders: it's even giving me confidence to have a go at updating my own website, about which I've become phobic in a silly old bugger sort of way...! I have one or two problems because of my eyesight, but the pictures look so much clearer than they used to, so I'll get used to the font size and density: or work out how to adjust them to suit my myopia and varifocals....

Yes great to see it again and it is smashing Fiona and well done with posting it, not easy.

This is a lovely snowscape Fiona. Warm browns make the scene welcoming, even though it is winter.

Stunning piece, Fiona, brimming with spontaneity. Beautifully done!

Louise, Robert, Derek, Jennifer and Seok....thank you very much for finding your way to my picture and leaving such lovely comments.

Well done Fiona!, this is a really well controlled watercolour. The subject is a simple hedgerow with trees but boy does it work well. Lovely use of wet on wet with some good contrast. I love all the trees but particularly the cropped willow. Great confidence with the rigger brush which I love to see, not too overdone (which I feel I tend to do) Reminds me of Ron Ranson's work, very fresh and loose. I think you should develop this style further, I would like to see more like it.

Thanks once again Alan, this is after one of my favourites of 'Wessons' watercolurs. The simplicity of it is wonderful.

Amazing painting - you capture trees so well!

Thank you Kevan!
