When the Clouds Shroud the Hills

Lovely watery washes with fascinating effects, love it Fiona!

Lovely wet watery washes for a wet day Fiona , I really like how the colours have blended .

Sometimes you've just got to let it go haven't you. That's what I find. It's fun. And it looks like you achieved that today Fiona.

Lovely effects 👌

Thanks Carole! Watercolour on gesso does funny things. Paul thank you, glad the wet look has come across. You are right Chris, I only did this about two hours ago. I’ve been looking at this heavy misty sky over the hills all day and just couldn’t resist in the end..…..as you will have guessed, I didn’t spend much time on it!lol Thank you for your comment.

Missed you there Faye……..thank you.

Fabulous Fiona. I love using watercolour on gesso too..love the colours you have used - definitely evokes misty wet hills!

How weird and wonderful Fiona. It looks like a line of grasshoppers marching along the foreground. It sounds like an interesting combination, watercolour and gesso. Must have a bash sometime.

Lovely effects with the washes, fantastic the way they have run Fiona.

Just love the effects in this, Fiona. Those hills are brilliant!

Beautifully captured Fiona.

I love the effects of the heavy laden sky, and minimum colour palette adds to it. Lovely painting.

How unusual! Quite superb though!!

Super expressive piece Fiona, and no doubt great fun was had !

So creative and effective!

Lovely rendition of abstract shapes that conveys the concept perfectly, Fiona!

You certainly "let loose " with this one, great wet effect especially the hills.

Thank you all very much for your lovely comments……can’t see the hills at all today!

I like the washes and the abstract feel, Fiona.

Many thanks Cesare!

Thanks Diane!

16”x14” watercolour, gesso, on paper. This has been the view from the window for most of the day……the rain is welcome, as long as it doesn’t stay too long.
