Simple but very effective. I love these two sketches. Great clouds.

As Chrispian says, the sky has worked out very well and your trees are improving all the time, reflections are good too. To say this has been worked from photo reference, you have got lots of life in the painting. I always think it's better to work from an image on TV or computer screen than from a small photo, I think you have made great progress in the last few months.

Lovely watercolour Fiona

Lovely, pastelly shades that capture the scene very well. I so admire (and envy) your versatility!

Many thanks everyone for your kind comments, much appreciated. Terry re; the snow in Gairloch, two nights ago the temp got down to -1c in Altnahara which is inland from me and last week we had day time temps of 25c......wierd!

Thank you Michael.

Been busy doing other things for a few weeks, so missed a lot of your recent paintings. I particularly like this one. Well done

Thank you very much Paul, now you are back, look forward to seeing your postings.

On countryfile last week, there was a piece about the Whimbrel, shot in wetlands somewhere. The camera work was fabulous, great stills. This one in particular I thought was stunning. I re-played the program back on iplayer and paused at this picture. I did a quick sketch in pen & wash ( which, if allowed I will post next) and then completed this watercolour from the sketch. Painted on Arches 12"x9" and Old Holland watercolours. Thanks for looking!
