Excellent! Rather dream-like.

Thanks Margaret, I always appreciate feed back. Steve

Like the very special foreground with the strong, warm colours, Stevan. Great work, what size is it?

Beautifully composed Stevan. Love the stone work, makes a brilliant lead in and you can interpret it into many elements.....Lane, path even the top of a stone wall. Also the lines in the distance describe the contours of the land. An excellent piece Steve.

Thanks for all the positive comments, they are much appreciated. Mia, the size is 27 cm (10.5") wide by 38cm (15") high. As ever Fionna it's a pleasure to receive your critique. You will note that the dendritic look has now become obligatory in all my pieces. Have a great Christmas one and all. Steve

Wonderful result Stevan.

Another excellent painting Stevan. I really like the composition and your confident style. I can see the influence of John Blockley.

Many thanks Tessa. im pleased you like the picture and I agree, I am constantly influenced by John blockley and also Michael Morgan though I'm always trying to develop in to new areas that ensure I don't just copy their respective styles.

For this painting I wanted to apply my usual style but add more detail to describe the elements that are apparent as the Pennines run in to the Yorkshire dales. I feel the exposed stones lead the eye in to the picture and the hills allow the telegraph poles / lines to add depth. The farm has links to buildings I've seen but it isn't exactly like anything I've seen.
