Great reflections and composition Diana.

A bit of metal, a bit of glass, lots of light and you turn it into an incredible painting Diana. That's talent!

The background's fine in my opinion. The reflections and light, especially on the colander, chopping board and blue cup are absolutely superb, Diana.

Lovely work in the kitchen again Diana. Terrific.

Terrific Diana. I love the yellow mug and the little reflection from it. You are sooo good at these!

The background looks fine - great watercolour, Diana

Beautiful light and reflections Diana. Yes the background looks good subdued.

Wonderful, I wish my draining board looked as good well done Diana

Wonderful light and reflections, Diana.

Thank you Carole. I struggle with the theory of composition. Good morning Val. I do like my shiny objects. Thank you. Thank you Roger. Regularly I overwork paintings because I change my mind about where they’re going mid painting. I’m going to try planning the composition and tonal values before starting the next one. Hello Jim and thank you. I think my kitchen has featured in more paintings than any other subject! The light in there always grabs my attention. Thank you Tessa. I loved that green reflection too. Hello Maureen and thank you for taking time to leave me your thoughts. I really appreciate it. Thank you Carole. I definitely want the background to be subtle but not sure about the colour strength. I’ve scrubbed the first two off already and the paper is suffering! Good morning Tao. Thank you again. I hate that ugly drainer but the sunlight gives it a beautiful appearance. Thank you Cesare. As usual, I’m going to re paint this one with a lot more pre planning because I loved the subject and go at it like a bull at a gate 😁

Great painting and love the subject matter!

Thank you Heather. It’s wonderful how light transforms the ordinary into extraordinary

That is terrific Diana. Superb light and reflections - envious of your talent. !

Thank you so much Richard. That is such a generous thing to say. I often feel like that when I look through the gallery. Other people’s work is always so inspiring

Especially love the colander and mug, Diana - and think the soft treatment of the background draws the eye nicely to the main subject matter. (Like you, I don't pre-plan a lot of my work, apart from the basic design, I only have a rough idea of colour and nearly always work it out as I go along, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!)

I love the crispness of this painting Diana.

Thank you Gudrun. The light lit everything beautifully. Hello Jenny and thank you for your comments. I’m pleased that you think it works with the scrubbed background. There is an element of spontaneity if you let the painting do the planning for you. Thank you Frank. I really wanted to capture that so I’m delighted you mentioned it.

Half imperial watercolour. I’m quite happy with a lot of it but need to do some thinking about the background before blindly slapping on any old colours ??
