Receiving an award at the RI Watercolours
On Thursday I went to see the preview of the Royal Institute Watercolours annual exhibition in the Mall Galleries,London. I have been looking forward to seeing this and had an ambition to have a painting hung there one day. Having two paintings chosen was beyond my wildest dreams and such an honour. The night before the trip down there I had a phone call from the gallery telling me that I had won an award!! My initial response was ‘ don’t be ridiculous’ which the caller found highly amusing. I had planned a day out traveling by train and meeting my brother and sister at the gallery so they were rather excited at the prospect of me receiving my award at the presentation. I was so nervous waiting to go up especially as the plinth was quite a high step for a short little arthritic woman as myself and I had visions of tripping and falling onto the platform. Not keen on having photos taken either but later,when we hit the prosecco, I was beyond worrying ! Getting me across London on the tub
