No less brilliant Diana. Superb work.

Absolutely brilliant!

I'm not normally for these detailed watercolours, but as I have said before you manage to get the detail while retaining energy and movement. Excellent Work.

Just exceptional work Diana!

You keep surprising with your unusual and suggestive subjects and with your unquestionable skill, Diana. This one is another smashing watercolour that only a talented artist like you can conceive. I like much the failing light towards the background.

beautiful vibrant colours well done Diana

Beautifully painted Diana .

Superb ! A great subject expertly depicted. My favourite colours .... ! Love it.

Thank you Jim. I see my half imperial paintings in large galleries and they look lost amongst the larger oil paintings. I do find it physically difficult actually painting on a large scale because I can't get as much control over the brushwork. Maybe that's a good thing. Thank you Riddhi. I'm pleased that you like it and pleased that the pg Hotographer gave me permission to use it Thank you Gudrun. That's a lovely thing to read as it is exactly what I hope to achieve. Thanks Fiona. When your close up to these large sheets, they look a bit of a mess but so much better when you stand back from them. Thank you Cesare. I was unsure about the background Thank you Margaret. Thank you Tao. I appreciate you taking the trouble to comment twice! Thanks Dennis. Much appreciated Thank you Avril. I think I have similar colours in most of my work. My favourites are the indigo/ burnt sienna combination

Diana, I would love to see this in person it must be impressive being full imperial. Missed the first version but looking at it I agree you have a little more contrast in this one which to my eye is a slight improvement on what was already a superb painting. I would suggest it's another one to enter in a competition or two.

Such quality, you can feel the heat from those tea lights. The darks are incredible, thanks for the tip on colour mix.

Thank you Barry. I'm a bit unsure about the back area but will see how I feel in a few days. Thanks John. You do need a big and safe place to use spray bottles. I put the painting onto a large bath sheet but still sprayed it all over myself!

Striking, eye catching and impressive

just brilliant, a fabulous painting.

I love the gradation in tone, colour and detail from foreground to background. So well thought out and very well painted Diana.
