Who worries about the background? The sheep are wonderfully done.

This is really eye catching, the sheep and the light you've captured are very clever.

I don't think you should be too worried about the background Diana. There is so much interest with the lovely sheep in the foreground and the houses in the middle ground, and the diagonal marks in the background lead the eye down to the sheep. I like it.

Love the sheep and the shadow Diana - also a lovely and fresh composition.

Thank you for taking the time to make such motivating comments. You boost my confidence greatly.

This is beautiful, feel like I'm there. Love the shadows of sheep in foreground

Such a good and busy foreground you really don't need the background to be anything other than what it is. Great!

I think this is a lovely painting , if I could just suggest I agree about the background I would just have a very hazy cool coloured background , also I would loose that red sign on the left as it keeps catching my eye , I hope you don't mind me saying as I think this is a fine piece of work

A fabulous watercolour painting of these sheep standing in a flock, the houses and bridge turned out well too, a wonderful capture and the way these herdwick sheep are huddled together, fantastic work Diana!

Thank you very much Angela. This is a blast from the past. One of my earliest efforts.

Watercolour done rather roughly on small paper. Not sure if I like it enough to paint on larger scale. The background seemed a bit weak
