Lots of great texture Caroline. Love the reflection and colours in the pan. And above all and most importantly I love garlic!

Nice work Caroline it puts me in mind of C w Mundy he does some fab still lives like this , I don't know if you heard of him.

Thanks Adele and Dennis. I haven't heard of that artist,Dennis, I'll definitely look them up.

And it has turned out superb Caroline

6 x 6............3 days????????? come on sharpen up Caroline ;) It is a smashing piece.

Thank you Derek. I'll have you know though, young man, it was 3 sessions, not 3 days!!

Wrist slapped thanks.

Really lovely, great colours in onion and garlic Caroline.

Thank you, Gudrun and Carole, much appreciated. it was the colour of the copper that took the longest - after a struggle my brain accepted how pink it was!

This is super Caroline, absolutely love the garlic! I did as an exercise in oil class black objects on black background and the other students when asked by the tutor, what colours do you see in the black, replied; green, purple, blue....well I looked and looked and thought "where, am I blind?" But yes, if you look there are many colours to be found in an object not just it's local colour. It's just getting the brain to agree!lol I've left an answer to your question re watercolour gear on that posting Caroline.

Glad it's not just me, Fiona, I have always found it hard to see the colours others could in shadows but slowly through simply painting regularly I think my perception of colour's improving.

I generally start off with the aim of doing the painting a day thing but I enjoyed the process of painting this and stretched it out over three sessions instead. Oil on board, 6" X 6"
